We are looking for Quantitative Field Interviewers to join an impactful study aimed at evaluating community-led interventions on handwashing with soap in Mombasa, Kenya. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in Training and Data Collection: Attend comprehensive training sessions to understand the research methodologies and data collection protocols.
  • Obtain Informed Consent: Clearly explain the study’s objectives and obtain voluntary informed consent from participants.
  • Conduct Surveys and Observations: Administer structured questionnaires and conduct field observations as per research protocols.
  • Daily Reporting: Prepare and submit daily field reports to the project supervisor, detailing data collection progress and challenges encountered.
  • Ensure Data Quality: Identify and correct inconsistencies in collected data to maintain high research standards.
  • Equipment and Tool Management: Ensure the safety and proper handling of all data collection tools and devices assigned for the study.
  • Meet Study Targets: Ensure that all study participants in the assigned sample list are successfully interviewed before the data collection period ends.
  • Attend Regular Meetings: Participate in team briefings, debriefings, and performance evaluations throughout the study duration.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Education: Minimum KCSE (C+) or higher.
  • Residency Requirement: Must be a resident of Mombasa County, preferably from Junda – Kisauni.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in microcomputer applications and experience in electronic data capture.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Kiswahili (spoken and written).
  • Research Experience: Proven expertise in quantitative research methods and data collection in low-income communities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Availability: Must be available to work full-time for the entire study duration (April-May 2025).
