Key Responsibilities
As the Project Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of field operations and staff activities. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Transport Facilitation:
- Provide timely and safe transport services for staff during project activities.
- Assist with loading and offloading items for distribution as needed.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness (interior and exterior).
- Ensure vehicles undergo regular maintenance checks, including oil, water, battery, brakes, and tires.
- Schedule vehicle servicing and address any emerging mechanical issues promptly.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere strictly to local road and traffic laws.
- Implement safe driving practices in alignment with internal standards.
- Vehicle Documentation and Reporting:
- Log all official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant details.
- Submit vehicle monitoring reports, including operational, maintenance, and expense records.
- Security Measures:
- Ensure vehicles are secure at all times.
- Prepare and maintain an inventory of spare parts and arrange for necessary repairs.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of secondary school education.
- A clean and valid driving license covering classes B, C1, D1, D2, and D3.
- A minimum of five (5) years of driving experience with 4WD vehicles, Nissan Vans, and school buses.
Key Competencies
- Proficiency in English and Kiswahili (both written and spoken).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with ASAL terrain, especially Turkana County.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor repairs.
- Certified defensive driving skills.
