  • Job Type: Permanent & Pensionable

  • Salary Range:

  1. Program Officer I: KES 105,981 – 157,495 per month
  2. Program Officer II: KES 78,622 – 118,486 per month
  3. Office Assistant III: KES 31,420 – 44,615 per month
  • Leave Allowance: As per Commission policy

  • Annual Leave: 30 working days per year

  • Medical Cover: As per Commission policy

About The National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC)

Key Responsibilities

Program Officer I (NGEC 6) – REF: NGEC/HR/2/02/2025 (1 Position)

  • Assist in developing and implementing gender equality, youth empowerment, and disability inclusion strategies

  • Support in drafting funding proposals and technical briefs to secure program financing

  • Participate in the creation of work plans, budgets, and program performance evaluations

  • Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and private institutions on policy initiatives

  • Provide technical support in integrating gender and inclusivity issues across various sectors

Program Officer II (NGEC 7) – REF: NGEC/HR/2/02/2025 (1 Position)

  • Engage stakeholders to mainstream gender and inclusivity issues in national development strategies

  • Conduct research, analysis, and reporting on gender policies, youth affairs, and disability rights

  • Develop concept papers, reports, and advocacy materials related to program activities

  • Participate in community engagement programs to create awareness and promote equal opportunities

Office Assistant III (NGEC 10) – REF: NGEC/HR/02/02/2025 (2 Positions)

  • Perform office cleaning, maintenance, and sanitation duties

  • Assist in kitchen duties, tea preparation, and general office hospitality

  • Manage photocopying, filing, and document binding for office operations

  • Handle courier services, dispatching letters, and record-keeping

  • Provide logistical support, including arranging office furniture and equipment

Qualifications and Skills

Program Officer I – Requirements

  • Served as Program Officer II for at least 3 years

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Gender & Development, Economics, Development Studies, Human Rights, Anthropology, Community Development, Sociology, or Social Sciences

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools

  • Strong knowledge of gender policies and human rights frameworks

  • Must meet Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution (Integrity Requirements)

Program Officer II – Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Gender & Development, Economics, Development Studies, Human Rights, Anthropology, Community Development, Sociology, or Social Sciences

  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to conduct research, policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement

  • Must meet Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution (Integrity Requirements)

Office Assistant III – Requirements

  • KCSE Certificate with a minimum mean grade of D+ (Plus) or equivalent

  • Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to perform clerical duties, office organization, and general support tasks

  • Must meet Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution (Integrity Requirements)
