KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions and patient needs.
  • Advise patients on the correct use of prescribed medications, including dosages, interactions, and potential side effects.
  • Compound and prepare prescriptions in compliance with professional pharmaceutical standards.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance by adhering to pharmacy regulations and hospital protocols.
  • Manage stock and inventory of medicines, ensuring availability and preventing stock shortages.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medication histories and dispensing logs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses, to optimize patient care.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Diploma or Degree in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Licensed by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (if required).
  • Strong knowledge of drug dosages and interactions, including best practices for dispensing.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring patient safety and effective medication management.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to educate patients on medication use.
  • Experience in inventory management, with the ability to track and reorder stock efficiently.
