Key Responsibilities
As the Perishables (PER) Exports Manager, you will oversee the operations, compliance, and logistics of perishable exports to achieve organizational objectives. Below are the key duties and responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Develop and implement strategies to expand the perishable exports department.
- Oversee logistics, customs clearance, and documentation for PER exports.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure compliance with SLAs and regulatory standards.
- Implement systems and processes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Negotiate contracts with carriers and vendors to secure optimal rates and performance.
Compliance and Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with customs, brokers, and regulatory bodies.
- Advise on regulatory updates and resolve customs-related issues effectively.
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements and reporting standards.
Vendor and Customer Relationships
- Build and sustain professional relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address customer needs and improve satisfaction.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with service providers to drive improvements.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the PER exports team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Manage team schedules and align them with organizational goals.
- Promote a high-performance culture and support individual development.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and skills:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in operations, logistics, transport, or supply chain management, including at least 5 years of leadership experience in freight forwarding.
- Proven expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, and people management.
Technical Knowledge and Certifications
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and cargo handling guidelines.
- Familiarity with Cargo Wise ERP System is highly desirable.
- Relevant certifications, including:
- Air Cargo & Cargo Wise System Certification
- BUP Handling Certificate
- AVSEC Awareness Certification
Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a team environment.
