INTRODUCTION
Nairobi Safari Club, operating under the international hospitality brand Swiss-Belhotel, is currently recruiting for two crucial roles within its Health & Wellness Department. These positions—Health Club Manager and Health Club Receptionist/Cashier—will contribute to the efficient and professional management of the hotel’s fitness and wellness facilities, while enhancing the customer experience in line with international standards.
VACANCY 1: Health Club Manager (1 Position)
Role Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Health Club Manager to oversee the daily operations of our state-of-the-art fitness centre. The manager will ensure smooth functionality, high service standards, and a safe and welcoming environment for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee daily fitness centre operations including member services, staff management, equipment oversight, and facility readiness.
- Customer Service: Address feedback, resolve issues, and implement initiatives to improve guest satisfaction and retention.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, motivate, and evaluate staff to build a performance-driven culture.
- Sales & Retention: Drive membership acquisition, renewals, and upselling of fitness packages. Implement strategic promotional campaigns.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure that gym equipment, swimming pool, sauna, changing rooms, and related amenities are clean, operational, and well-maintained.
- Financial Management: Support budgeting, monitor expenses, and ensure operations remain within set financial targets.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce adherence to all health, safety, and hygiene protocols. Maintain first aid readiness and supervise emergency drills.
Job Specifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a health club or gym within a 4- or 5-star hospitality environment. Prior experience under an international hotel brand is a distinct advantage.
- Education: Diploma in Fitness Science, Gym Instruction, or Health Nutrition.

VACANCY 2: Health Club Receptionist/Cashier (1 Position)
Role Purpose
The Health Club Receptionist/Cashier serves as the front-line ambassador of the wellness centre, providing first-class service to members and visitors. The successful candidate will manage administrative and cashiering responsibilities while maintaining a warm and professional atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Member Registration and Renewal: Handle new signups, membership renewals, and input of client data into digital systems.
- Cashier Duties: Collect membership and service fees. Prepare end-of-day cashier summaries and submit accurate reports to the finance team.
- Promotions and Sales: Actively market available fitness packages and services to members and walk-ins.
- Record Management: Maintain logs of member feedback, complaints, lost and found items, and maintenance requests.
- Facility Oversight: Ensure the reception, toilets, changing rooms, and general environment are clean, stocked, and guest-ready.
- Telephone Handling: Receive and route incoming calls. Take accurate messages and provide general information to callers.
- Linen Management: Coordinate with housekeeping for laundry collection, folding, and supply inventory for towels, robes, and toiletries.
- Security and Safety: Uphold a secure and welcoming space for all club visitors and employees.
- End-of-Shift Duties: Ensure all cash and transaction summaries are safely deposited at the end of each shift.
Job Specifications
- Experience: 1–2 years of front-office or spa/recreation experience in a hospitality or wellness environment.
- Education: Certificate or diploma in Customer Service, Hotel Front Office, or related field.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Basic accounting and cashiering
- Proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, POS systems)
- Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Trustworthy, courteous, and presentable
