INTRODUCTION

The Social Health Authority (SHA) is a newly established State Corporation under the Social Health Insurance Act, 2023. It is mandated to provide financial risk protection for Kenyan residents by administering universal access to quality healthcare services through the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), Primary Healthcare Fund (PHF), and Emergency, Chronic, and Critical Illness Fund (ECCIF).

As SHA strengthens its institutional capacity and infrastructure, the Authority is seeking to recruit visionary, result-oriented, and highly experienced professionals for the following leadership roles:

  • Deputy Director – Legal Services (Ref: SHA/91/2025)
  • Deputy Director – Supply Chain Management (Ref: SHA/92/2025)
  • Deputy Director – Claims & Case Management (Ref: SHA/93/2025)

Each position is available on permanent and pensionable terms.

ABOUT THE SOCIAL HEALTH AUTHORITY (SHA)

The Social Health Authority plays a pivotal role in the transformation of Kenya’s healthcare system. Tasked with managing social health insurance schemes under the 2023 Act, SHA ensures that every resident in Kenya has equitable access to essential health services without suffering financial hardship.

Working in partnership with other public and private stakeholders, the Authority manages the disbursement and oversight of multiple health funds—ensuring quality, affordability, and transparency in healthcare delivery.

1. Deputy Director – Legal Services

  • Summary: This role oversees legal affairs, governance compliance, and contractual frameworks. It involves providing legal advice, supporting legislative implementation, and ensuring SHA operates within legal boundaries.

2. Deputy Director – Supply Chain Management

  • Reference: SHA/92/2025
  • No. of Positions: 1
  • Terms: Permanent and Pensionable
  • Summary: Responsible for planning, coordination, and execution of SHA’s procurement and supply chain strategies, ensuring compliance with public procurement laws, value-for-money sourcing, and timely delivery of services.

3. Deputy Director – Claims & Case Management

  • Reference: SHA/93/2025
  • No. of Positions: 1
  • Terms: Permanent and Pensionable
  • Summary: Leads operations related to claims verification, case processing, health service audits, fraud prevention, and beneficiary communications under the Social Health Insurance framework.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

CHAPTER SIX COMPLIANCE (MANDATORY)

  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI)
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Clearance Certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Report from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)

Failure to attach these documents will result in automatic disqualification.
