Key Responsibilities

As a Mill Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

• Performing mill maintenance and front-end shift operations.
• Assisting in mechanical fitting tasks related to the mill’s operational efficiency.
• Conducting preventative maintenance on mill machinery.
• Ensuring timely repairs of mechanical components to minimize downtime.
• Working on a shift schedule, including night shifts when required.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area after completion of service.
• Following safety procedures and compliance standards.
• Collaborating with engineers and production teams to enhance machine performance.
• Performing any other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications and skills:

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma in Fitter Trade Test or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mill Fitter.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical fittings and industrial machinery.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and execute timely repairs.
• Experience in mill maintenance, including gears, bearings, and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Physically fit and mentally alert to work in a high-demand environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures to minimize breakdowns.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and adhere to safety regulations.
