Introduction

Hatua Likoni is looking for two dynamic and proactive Mentoring Interns to join our Secondary Mentoring Department starting in January 2024. As a Mentoring Intern, you will collaborate with our team to deliver impactful mentoring programs and help nurture future leaders.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mentoring Intern, you will play an active role in supporting the goals of the mentoring program. Your key responsibilities will include:

Facilitation and Training Support

• Facilitate and participate in mentoring sessions designed for Gap Year students, ensuring an engaging and impactful learning experience.
• Collaborate with the Mentoring Officer to develop and enhance facilitation techniques for effective program delivery.

Logistics and Program Coordination

• Provide logistics support for mentoring programs, including organizing materials and ensuring smooth operations for all activities.
• Assist in planning and executing outreach programs to extend the reach of mentoring initiatives.
• Coordinate transportation and resources needed for mentoring events.

Student Management

• Monitor and track daily attendance of Gap Year students, compiling detailed reports for submission to the Mentoring Officer.
• Support Gap Year students during their visits to designated schools, ensuring their active participation in outreach programs.

Event Planning and Coordination

• Assist in the planning, organization, and coordination of events related to mentoring activities, ensuring all logistical and operational details are managed effectively.
• Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students and stakeholders during events.

Departmental Engagement

• Attend departmental meetings regularly and prepare comprehensive minutes to document discussions and decisions.
• Share insights and feedback to improve the quality of mentoring programs.

Social Media and Content Creation

• Capture high-quality images during mentoring sessions and events for use on social media platforms, helping to showcase the program’s impact.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

• A genuine interest in youth mentoring and education programs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
• Strong organizational skills to handle logistics and event coordination.
• Proficiency in writing detailed reports and maintaining accurate attendance records.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in mentoring, facilitation, or youth-related activities is a plus.
