Job Overview

Kenafric Industries Limited is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Planner to join our dynamic supply chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a seamless flow of raw materials, parts, and packaging components to support uninterrupted production. This position is crucial for inventory management, demand forecasting, and procurement coordination to ensure production efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an optimized replenishment plan for raw and packaging materials covering a 12-month horizon to ensure consistent material availability.
• Coordinate with demand planners and the production team to align with the weekly production schedule and supply chain needs.
• Monitor supply signals using MRP purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy in delivery dates, lead times, and required quantities.
• Work closely with procurement teams for order placement, supplier coordination, and delivery scheduling.
• Liaise with key stakeholders in material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure timely supply for both local and export operations.
• Identify and address inventory imbalances, including high stock levels due to demand fluctuations or low stock in case of sudden demand surges.
• Develop and implement strategic inventory management plans to align with production requirements.
• Use forecasting tools and MRP systems to analyze and predict material needs.
• Ensure cost-effective procurement by working with suppliers to optimize purchase decisions and reduce wastage.
• Regularly monitor inventory levels and provide weekly stock reports to align with procurement and production teams.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure adherence to product specifications and material requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate inefficiencies, reduce costs, and enhance material flow.
• Prepare detailed reports on material usage, procurement status, and inventory levels to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Material Planner, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to problem-solve under pressure, work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in inventory control, demand forecasting, and procurement coordination.
