About Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK)
The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) is a statutory body established under the Engineers Act, 2011 to regulate the engineering profession in Kenya. The Board is responsible for registering engineers and engineering consulting firms, regulating engineering professional practices, and promoting engineering excellence in the country.

Key Responsibilities
As the Manager, Internal Audit, your core duties will include:
- Providing secretariat support to the Audit Committee.
- Developing and implementing internal audit policies, strategies, and plans.
- Compiling, reviewing, and issuing internal audit reports.
- Conducting special audits and investigations to identify risks and inefficiencies.
- Establishing and maintaining systems in compliance with auditing standards.
- Assessing the effectiveness of risk assessment systems within the organization.
- Monitoring and reporting on the organization’s risk profile.
- Supporting various departments in risk profiling and control assurance.
- Ensuring the correctness and accuracy of accounting reports.
- Providing independent assurance on risk management processes, control mechanisms, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluating risk control effectiveness and ensuring compliance with governance processes.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Requirements:
To qualify for this position, you must have:
- At least eight (8) years of relevant experience, with at least three (3) years at a supervisory level.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (Finance & Accounting option), or a related field from a recognized university.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Accounting/Finance Option) or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA-K) or equivalent qualification.
- Active membership in ICPAK, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), or ISACA in good standing.
- Certificate in Management Course (at least four (4) weeks long) from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in Information Communication Systems & Applications.
- Demonstrated professional competence in internal auditing and governance compliance.
- Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya (see conditions for application below).

Conditions for Application
Successful candidates will be required to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya by submitting:
- Clearance from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB).
- Valid Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
- Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
- Clearance Certificate from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
- Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
