Key Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiological tests on various sample matrices (e.g., water, food, raw materials).
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as autoclaves, incubators, biosafety cabinets, and spectrophotometers.
• Conduct sample collection, handling, and preparation per approved protocols and preservation requirements.
• Analyze test results, record data, and ensure accuracy in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
• Maintain laboratory safety standards, ensuring proper chemical and reagent handling.
• Adhere to strict laboratory timelines, meeting customer and regulatory requirements.
• Calibrate, clean, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
• Document test findings and generate reports as per established laboratory procedures.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure compliance with company policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Requirements:

• Undergraduate Degree / Diploma / Certificate in Microbiology, Food Science, or any related field.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar laboratory setting or related field.

Technical Knowledge Required:

• General Laboratory Processes – Understanding of chemical and microbiological principles, laboratory procedures, and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements.
• Sample Handling & Storage – Knowledge of sample integrity, preservation methods, testing conditions.
• Equipment Operation & Maintenance – Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as fridges, freezers, incubators, biosafety cabinets, autoclaves.
• Laboratory Safety & Compliance – Adherence to safety protocols for sample handling, disposal, and chemical handling.

Essential Skills & Abilities:

• Strong computer skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
• Time Management – Ability to prioritize, plan daily tasks, and meet deadlines efficiently.
• Analytical Thinking – Capacity to evaluate test data, perform statistical analysis, and ensure result accuracy.
• Attention to Detail – Strong focus on precise testing procedures and compliance with safety standards.
• Interpersonal & Customer Service Skills – Ability to collaborate with team members and handle customer inquiries professionally.
• Effective Communication – Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to convey technical information clearly.
