INTRODUCTION

Are you an entrepreneur in Kenya’s agriculture or agri-tech space with an innovative product, service, or solution? Are you working to transform farming, food systems, or agro-waste management through tech, sustainable practices, or inclusive supply chain models?

The Kenya Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program (KAEP), launched by E4Impact Foundation in collaboration with Joule – ENI School of Entrepreneurship, invites Kenyan agribusiness entrepreneurs to apply for its 2025 cohort.

This high-impact entrepreneurship accelerator is designed to support early-stage and growth-stage agribusiness startups that offer market-driven, scalable, and sustainable innovations in key agricultural value chains.

The program targets entrepreneurs building solutions in:

  • Precision Agriculture

  • Agricultural Supply Chain Management

  • Waste Management and Circular Economy

If you’re an agriculture innovator ready to scale your MVP or post-revenue venture in Kenya, this program offers business acceleration, expert mentorship, access to markets and networks, and tailored technical support—all designed to help you thrive in the growing African agribusiness ecosystem.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS

E4Impact Foundation

E4Impact Foundation is a global impact accelerator headquartered in Italy and operational across multiple African countries. Its mission is to support the scaling of sustainable enterprises that tackle social, environmental, and economic challenges across Africa.

Through partnerships with universities, corporations, and development institutions, E4Impact provides access to training, investment readiness, and ecosystem building. Its Kenya chapter has successfully run multiple entrepreneurship programs focused on agribusiness, circular economy, and renewable energy.

Joule – ENI School of Entrepreneurship

Joule is the entrepreneurship school founded by ENI, one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies. Joule supports business ventures that foster inclusive, climate-resilient, and tech-driven economies. With a particular interest in environmental sustainability, Joule’s collaboration with E4Impact aims to empower agribusiness entrepreneurs in Kenya to tackle food security, carbon emissions, and post-harvest inefficiencies.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE AND TRACKS

The 2025 Kenya Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program will run two tailored tracks based on your venture’s level of maturity.

Track 1: Minimum Viable Product (MVP) Stage

This track is ideal for early-stage entrepreneurs who have:

  • Developed a working minimum viable product

  • Conducted basic product-market fit analysis

  • Tested the concept with a pilot or test group

  • Registered their business in Kenya

You will receive:

  • Business model refinement support

  • Prototype improvement mentorship

  • Access to local pilot opportunities

  • Support in validating revenue channels and go-to-market strategy

  • Coaching in pitching, fundraising, and investor readiness

Track 2: Post-Revenue Growth Stage

This track targets more advanced ventures that:

  • Have been generating revenue for at least 6 months

  • Have some traction with customers or business partners

  • Seek to scale operations or expand regionally

You will receive:

  • Investment readiness support

  • Scaling strategy and roadmap development

  • Access to private and institutional investors

  • Advanced pitch preparation

  • Support in formalizing supply contracts and partnerships

Both tracks benefit from access to mentorship, coaching, investor linkages, ecosystem events, and impact measurement support.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To qualify for participation in the Kenya Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program 2025, your venture must meet the following criteria:

General Eligibility

  • Must be registered and legally operating in Kenya

  • Founders or core team members must be Kenyan citizens or legal residents

  • Business must fall within one of the program’s three focus areas (listed below)

  • Operations must be based in or around Nairobi, Makueni, or Mombasa

  • Must demonstrate market potential and potential for social or environmental impact

Specific Track Eligibility

Track 1: MVP Stage

  • Have a working prototype or MVP

  • Can demonstrate problem-solution fit and initial user engagement

  • Not yet generating consistent revenue or still refining monetization strategy

Track 2: Post-Revenue Stage

  • Business has a consistent revenue stream for at least 6 months

  • Has defined business model and go-to-market strategy

  • Seeks investment, formal partnerships, or large-scale distribution channels

THEMATIC FOCUS AREAS

The Kenya Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program supports entrepreneurs building solutions in one of the following thematic domains:

1. Precision Agriculture

Innovations in this category include:

  • Smart farming solutions (IoT, sensors, satellite mapping)

  • Soil testing, climate data, and crop forecasting tools

  • Agri-robotics and remote-controlled farming systems

  • Digital tools that increase productivity, input efficiency, or climate resilience

  • Farmer advisory platforms, input optimization apps, and automated irrigation systems

2. Supply Chain Management

This category supports:

  • Cold chain logistics and post-harvest storage solutions

  • Platforms that connect farmers to markets and off-takers

  • Food traceability and transparency systems

  • Inventory, transport, and logistics platforms for agricultural produce

  • Value chain financing tools and cooperative marketplaces

3. Waste Management

Ventures tackling:

  • Organic waste recycling into compost, bio-fertilizers, or feed

  • Biogas production from agricultural waste

  • Circular economy models that upcycle or repurpose farm residues

  • Technologies that reduce post-harvest losses

  • Eco-packaging or plastic alternatives made from agri-waste
