ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Investigation Officer will lead and supervise security operations across MOGO’s assets, including vehicle yards, conduct internal and external fraud investigations, supervise maintenance personnel, and support loan processing to ensure risk compliance and strategic growth.
This is a high-impact role requiring deep investigative knowledge, risk management insight, and strong field coordination skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Investigations & Risk Monitoring
- Conduct interviews with witnesses, clients, and internal staff regarding potential fraud or misconduct
- Collect and analyze data and documentation to support investigations
- Liaise with government and private entities to obtain investigation-related documents
- Maintain up-to-date records of all evidence, case files, and documents
- Attend court proceedings and provide evidence as required
Operational Oversight & Fieldwork
- Supervise yard operations to ensure the security of vehicle inventory
- Manage maintenance officers and enforce compliance with safety protocols
- Ensure timely resolution of vehicle-related issues to prevent risk
Complaint Management & Reporting
- Manage customer complaints and ensure prompt resolution and feedback
- Document and escalate unresolved cases to higher authorities
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc investigation reports for senior management
Intelligence Gathering & Research
- Conduct proactive research on fraud trends and develop preventive strategies
- Source and evaluate domestic and international databases that assist investigations
- Develop risk intelligence reports and present mitigation strategies
Administration & Compliance
- Monitor all security-related documentation to ensure compliance with data protection laws
- Assist in developing standard operating procedures for field and investigation units
- Support the legal and compliance departments on security-related matters
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Academic & Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Investigations, Security Management, or related field
- Formal training or certification in law enforcement, fraud investigation, or compliance
Experience & Background
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant investigation experience (essential)
- Experience in disciplinary forces (Police, Military) is highly desirable
- Prior work experience in financial institutions is an added advantage

- Strong ability to identify, assess, and prevent fraud or misconduct
- Excellent planning, leadership, and stakeholder coordination skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing tools
- Excellent English and Kiswahili communication (written and verbal)
