About The Action Foundation

The Action Foundation (TAF) is a Kenyan organization dedicated to advancing the rights and well-being of children and youth with disabilities (CYWDs). Since 2009, TAF has impacted over 20,000 CYWDs through inclusive education, health services, and policy advocacy. Our work is driven by the vision of an inclusive Africa where CYWDs have equal opportunities to thrive.

Through strategic collaborations with government agencies, local organizations, and advocacy groups, we promote policies that address gender disparities and disability inclusion. Our programs span key areas such as child health and development, foundational learning, youth education, and economic empowerment, ensuring long-term impact for marginalized communities.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resource Management

  • Support recruitment and selection processes, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination.
  • Facilitate onboarding and induction to ensure seamless integration of new employees.
  • Maintain and update employee records, including contracts, leave management, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure HR policies comply with labor laws and best practices.
  • Coordinate staff training and capacity-building initiatives for professional growth.
  • Address employee relations issues, grievances, and conflict resolution in a professional manner.
  • Oversee occupational health and safety regulations and workplace policies.

Administrative Support

  • Manage office operations to ensure a productive and professional work environment.
  • Maintain confidential employee and organizational records in compliance with data protection standards.
  • Prepare and process official correspondence, reports, and internal communications.
  • Organize logistics for meetings, workshops, and events, including scheduling and documentation.

Office Management

  • Oversee office supplies procurement, vendor relations, and maintenance of facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations in the workplace.
  • Manage contracts and service agreements with external providers.

Financial and Logistics Support

  • Oversee travel logistics, including booking transportation and accommodations for staff and visitors.
  • Ensure proper documentation and accountability for administrative expenditures.

Consultant Engagement and Contracting

  • Facilitate the consultant engagement process, including needs assessment, selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Draft and manage consultant contracts in alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor consultant deliverables to ensure adherence to agreed-upon timelines and objectives.
  • Maintain consultant agreements, invoices, and performance evaluations.

Stakeholder and Partner Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, partners, and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate internal and external communication to enhance collaboration among teams and partners.
  • Maintain an updated directory of key stakeholders, partners, and service providers.

Qualifications and Skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR and administrative role.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, HR policies, and best practices.
  • Experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR management software.
  • Experience in consultant engagement and contract management is an added advantage.
  • Passion for social impact and a strong commitment to disability inclusion.
