KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Capacity Support, Management & Maintenance

  • Support and manage data center equipment capacity, ensuring optimal operation for business needs.
  • Install and configure new compute and storage capacities for existing and upcoming business projects.

Routine Operations & Maintenance

  • Conduct regular maintenance operations to ensure the health of data center infrastructure and hardware.
  • Ensure all data center operations comply with internal and external regulatory requirements.

Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

  • Ensure business resilience by setting up and maintaining adequate disaster recovery measures.
  • Execute backup procedures in line with company backup policies.
  • Liaise with colocation providers and data center support vendors for optimal operational efficiency.
  • Update and review IT Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Conduct failover tests as outlined in the Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

Secure Data Center Operations

  • Implement and monitor patch management procedures for Windows and Linux servers.
  • Enforce security controls on both on-premise and cloud platforms to ensure compliance with CIS benchmarks.

Set Up and Operation of Adequate Data Center Monitoring Framework

  • Ensure that all data center assets are monitored continuously and reported on.
  • Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports for data center systems.
  • Ensure that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met for all data center operations.

Active Directory and Group Policy Management

  • Support and troubleshoot Active Directory (AD) and Azure Entra ID.
  • Manage group policies across local and cloud environments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Academic Requirements & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Microsoft Azure Certification and Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) certification.
  • Certification in Linux Administration (preferred but not mandatory).

Technical Skills

  • Minimum of one year of experience managing and supporting virtualized data center environments.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking and system administration.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure, storage management, and security protocols.
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot system issues and implement preventive maintenance.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for emerging industry trends.
