Job Overview
The Financial Inclusion Manager will lead SHOFCO’s financial inclusion initiatives, focusing on youth empowerment programs under the SHOFCO Fund. This position requires strategic leadership to align programs with SHOFCO’s mission while fostering partnerships to drive financial empowerment for underserved communities. The manager will collaborate across teams, emphasizing program monitoring, reporting, and resource mobilization.

  • Reports to: Program Director
  • Travel Required: When advised or necessary
  • Work Pattern/Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership and Program Management
    • Provide overall project management leadership for Youth Voice Empowerment (YVE) deliverables within the SACCO framework.
    • Serve as the primary liaison between SHOFCO’s Youth Voice and Sacco’s microcredit teams, ensuring alignment with overarching organizational objectives.
    • Design, lead, and manage youth-focused programs under the SHOFCO Fund, emphasizing sustainable financial growth and empowerment.
  2. Youth Empowerment Initiatives
    • Develop and execute social intervention programs targeting youth financial inclusion and empowerment.
    • Design innovative solutions to address financial challenges faced by youth, promoting economic independence.
    • Ensure effective delivery of Financial Literacy and Capacity (FLC) programs tailored for youth beneficiaries.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement and Resource Mobilization
    • Build and maintain strong donor relationships to secure ongoing support for financial inclusion initiatives.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports for donors, ensuring transparency and alignment with funding objectives.
    • Collaborate with SHOFCO’s microcredit department to secure resources for youth program implementation.
  4. Monitoring and Evaluation
    • Work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to assess program success and impact.
    • Ensure programs comply with SHOFCO’s policies and relevant regulations.
    • Incorporate best practices in financial inclusion to enhance program effectiveness.
  5. Broader Financial Inclusion Initiatives
    • Oversee all financial inclusion programs at SHOFCO, ensuring cohesive strategies and impactful outcomes.
    • Participate in strategic planning to define priorities and drive financial access for underserved communities.

  • Demonstrated success managing donor-funded projects and engaging stakeholders.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
