Key Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst (Fixed Assets Management)

Fixed Assets Capitalization: Ensure accurate capitalization of fixed assets in line with company policies and IFRS accounting standards.
Management of Capital Work in Progress (CWIP): Monitor and track CWIP accounts, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation.
Asset Transfers and Disposal: Manage and document internal transfers and disposals of assets, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory policies.
Depreciation Management: Calculate and record depreciation expenses for fixed and intangible assets in accordance with IFRS and company guidelines.
IFRS 16 Lease Accounting: Ensure the accurate computation of Right of Use (ROU) Asset and Lease Liability balances, aligning depreciation and interest expenses with General Ledger schedules.
Reporting and Reconciliation: Prepare and present fixed asset reports, maintain asset registers, and ensure accurate reconciliation of financial statements.
Audit Support & Compliance: Provide documentation and reports for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and financial regulations.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices for improving fixed asset accounting processes.
Fixed Asset Verification: Conduct physical verification of assets, ensuring accurate documentation and tagging of new assets.
Intercompany Reconciliation: Manage intercompany accounts to ensure prompt reconciliation and settlement of outstanding balances.

Qualifications and Skills Required

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Attain at least CPA II (Section 4) or an equivalent professional qualification in Accounting.
Have a minimum of four (4) years’ relevant experience in Finance, Fixed Asset Management, and Financial Reporting.
Strong understanding and practical knowledge of IFRS 16 lease accounting and asset lifecycle management.
Experience using financial management systems, including fixed assets tracking systems.
Expertise in financial and data analysis, financial reconciliations, and management reporting.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
