Key Responsibilities
As a Finance Volunteer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and efficiency. Your primary duties will include:
- Cash Payments: Ensure all cash payments are fully supported and authorized per IRC’s delineation chart before disbursement.
- Invoice and Payment Journals: Prepare, submit for approval, and post invoice/payment journals into the Integra system.
- Data Entry: Accurately manage Integra data entry for accounts payable and receivable, ensuring correct financial dimensions.
- Taxation Schedule: Prepare monthly taxation schedules for staff per diem and submit them for review and approval.
- Vendor Invoice Management: Monitor and track vendor invoices, ensuring they meet the three-way match principle and are processed promptly.
- Journal Preparation: Prepare journals for all cash receipts or bank deposits and submit them for approval.
- Vendor Payments: Ensure timely settlement of vendor payment journals.
- Documentation: Maintain organized, sequentially filed folders for invoice and payment journals for easy retrieval.
- Audit Support: Assist in document retrieval during audits and donor verifications.
- Statutory Compliance: Ensure all statutory deductions are remitted by the due dates.
- General Support: Assist the project office assigned to you and perform finance assistant duties as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
Required Qualifications:
- Academic Background: Minimum CPA II qualification or a University degree in finance or accounting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with accounting software like Microsoft 365.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- High degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility in taking on new tasks.
