Key Responsibilities

As a Finance Analyst, you will:

Disbursement Transactions Processing:

  • Serve as the country focal point for disbursement-related aspects in collaboration with the country’s Finance Officer.
  • Process disbursement transactions and promptly address any issues or exceptions.
  • Liaise with external clients to ensure smooth transaction handling.

Project Restructuring and Trust Fund Preparation:

  • Manage project preparations for low-risk trust funds.
  • Review restructuring packages to ensure compliance and alignment with organizational goals.

Portfolio Management:

  • Monitor inactive Project Designated Accounts and manage system updates.
  • Ensure Designated Account balances are properly documented for orderly loan closures.

Training and Capacity Building:

  • Evaluate borrowers’ capacity constraints through transaction reviews.
  • Provide tailored capacity-building initiatives to enhance client performance.

System and Task Management:

  • Support the planning and development of system enhancements and application upgrades.
  • Test enhancements, prepare analytical reports, and contribute to the development of new systems.
  • Collaborate on ad hoc assignments as directed by WFACS leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines.
  • Professional Accounting Qualification: CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience in finance or accounting.
  • Exposure to financial institutions or accounting firms is a plus.
  • Previous experience in the Big Four accounting firms is advantageous.

Language Proficiency

  • Advanced fluency in English and French (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency in both languages will be assessed during the recruitment process.

Technical Knowledge

  • Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with internal controls and financial management systems.
  • Knowledge of operational policies related to disbursements and loan management.
  • Strong quantitative skills with attention to detail and numerical accuracy.

Soft Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
  • Strong client focus with the ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
  • Effective time management and the ability to work in multicultural environments.
  • Willingness to work in different time zones as needed.
