WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Debt Collection Admin Intern, you will provide daily administrative and operational support to the collections and recovery department. Key tasks will include ERP updates, field coordination, client communication, and supporting repossession workflows.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. ERP Data Entry and Updates
- Update both internal and external cases in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Log repossession activity, case progress, and account status changes in real time
- Track logbook release updates, capital reductions, and change of due dates
2. Client Communication and Support
- Send SMS notifications to clients immediately after asset repossession
- Generate and share loan statements and final balance summaries with clients
- Provide answers to walk-in clients regarding repossessed units and debt settlement options
3. Field Officer Coordination
- Attend to field officers in real time and assist them with account lookups and system inputs
- Organize, coordinate, and assign daily field assignments for the recovery team
- Prepare daily performance reports on field staff, repossession trends, and collection targets
4. Repossession and Yard Management Support
- Engage with clients who visit the MOGO yard to reclaim repossessed units
- Support negotiations for payment settlements and waive penalties where authorized
- Maintain accurate documentation and ERP records of released vehicles
5. Financial Amendments and Administrative Tasks
- Make administrative edits on ERP including restructures, balloon payments, and capital adjustments
- Create and track invoices for external auctioneers involved in the recovery process
- Resolve day-to-day administrative issues and escalate as needed
6. Customer Service Duties
- Respond to inquiries about logbook availability, due dates, and contract terms
- Ensure professional communication with clients to uphold the brand’s integrity and reputation
7. Any Other Duties
- Provide general admin assistance as assigned by supervisors
- Participate in departmental planning meetings or training sessions
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Credit Management, or related field
Core Skills and Competencies:
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken (English and Swahili)
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in MS Excel, Google Sheets, or data platforms
- Analytical mindset and strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Professional demeanor and commitment to client service
Bonus Skills (Highly Preferred):
- Familiarity with ERP systems or CRM tools
- Experience in any administrative role (even academic, volunteer, or internship-based)
- Previous exposure to customer service, finance, or banking environments
