ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

As a Customer Care Agent Intern, you will serve as the front-line ambassador for MOGO’s customer experience. The role involves managing inbound queries, resolving issues, assisting with sales leads, and creating an engaging, empathetic environment for all MOGO clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals interested in customer relations, communications, and sales support in a fast-growing fintech environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Interaction

  • Handle inquiries via phone, email, live chat, and social media
  • Address complaints with professionalism and empathy
  • Maintain a positive and helpful attitude in all communications

Problem Resolution

  • Assess and understand customer needs to deliver tailored solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complaints or direct them to the appropriate team
  • Escalate unresolved or complex issues efficiently

Product Knowledge

  • Learn MOGO’s financial products in detail and update knowledge continuously
  • Provide accurate, timely information to potential and existing clients

Documentation and CRM Management

  • Record all customer interactions in the CRM system
  • Maintain detailed logs of conversations, complaints, and transactions
  • Suggest ways to improve the customer care process based on observations

Team Collaboration and Sales

  • Participate in internal training sessions and meetings
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure consistent customer service
  • Respond to sales inquiries and guide customers through the application process

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Academic Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, or related field preferred

Experience

  • Prior customer service experience is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Exposure to working with CRMs, email platforms, or live chat tools is a plus

Technical & Soft Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Kiswahili
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills
  • Proficient typing and multitasking skills
  • Ability to stay calm and professional in high-pressure situations
  • Comfortable using computers, databases, and phone systems
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

Additional Requirements

  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, or holidays if needed
  • Ability to sit for long durations using a headset and computer
