ABOUT MOGO AUTO LIMITED

MOGO Auto Limited is a dynamic Kenyan operation under the international umbrella of Eleving Group, a global fintech brand operating in 16 countries across Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Since its 2019 entry into the Kenyan market, MOGO has financed over 100,000 vehicles and served more than 50,000 customers. Their digital-first approach to car financing, motorcycle loans, tuk-tuk financing, electric vehicles, and logbook loans has disrupted traditional banking, offering accessible alternatives to underserved communities.

Key achievements:

  • Issued over KES 230 million in motorcycle loans in a single month (June 2024).

  • Recently signed a $10 million deal with the U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to support electric mobility in Kenya.

  • Provides logbook loans and vehicle financing with flexible terms and quick processing—loan decisions in under 24 hours.

  • One of the few firms globally that finances cars of any brand, age, or model.

MOGO’s mission is simple: promote upward social mobility by offering inclusive, innovative, and tech-driven financial products to everyday Kenyans. Their fast-scaling team is built around data, customer success, and local partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Call Center Intern, your daily activities will revolve around client interaction, administrative efficiency, and collaborative execution. You’ll be required to:

  • Initiate contact with customers via phone to discuss pending loan payments and establish mutually beneficial repayment schedules.

  • Negotiate repayment terms confidently, ensuring customers understand their obligations while preserving respectful communication.

  • Update and organize client records including contact history, payment schedules, promises to pay, and follow-ups using internal CRMs and Google Sheets.

  • Ensure strict adherence to credit policies, internal guidelines, and ethical debt recovery practices.

  • Record all interactions and outcomes with clarity and completeness to support follow-up actions by supervisors and finance teams.

  • Escalate complex or high-risk cases to senior debt recovery officers for review and intervention.

  • Work closely with team leads to meet and exceed daily and weekly targets for calls, PTPs (promises to pay), and collection rates.

  • Handle inbound inquiries professionally, resolving client concerns or redirecting them to appropriate teams.

  • Recommend improvements in workflow, call scripts, and escalation models to enhance collection efficiency.

  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

This is a role that will build your interpersonal communication, time management, and CRM software proficiency, preparing you for full-time employment in customer service, debt recovery, or financial operations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, teachable, and resilient—with a willingness to grow professionally in a fast-paced environment. To be eligible, you must have:

  • A Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Communications, or any related field.

  • Previous call center or customer support experience is an added advantage—but not a requirement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.

  • Strong listening and negotiation abilities—capable of turning tense situations into solutions.

  • Comfortable working with Google Workspace, Excel spreadsheets, and CRM platforms.

  • High levels of integrity, patience, and the ability to handle emotionally charged calls calmly.

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret repayment history and recommend actions.

  • An open mind for feedback and coaching.

  • Flexibility in work style—comfortable in both independent and team environments.

This is a great opportunity for those looking for internship jobs in Kenya with no experience, particularly in Nairobi’s professional customer service space.
