Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Goals: Establish and execute objectives, policies, and priorities for assigned programs, recommending and administering policies and procedures to achieve divisional goals.

  • Team Leadership: Oversee the Applications Support team by assigning work activities, reviewing and evaluating work products, and resolving issues to ensure efficient operations.

  • System Optimization: Implement system changes through automation, process improvements, and management solutions, providing necessary training to staff.

  • Diagnostic Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of system errors, consulting with vendors to implement effective solutions and enhance system functionality.

  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including project reports, user manuals, presentations, and strategic plans related to application analyses.

  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management procedures, business continuity scenarios, and disaster recovery plans to maintain operations during downtime or major disruptions.

  • Quality Assurance: Research, develop, and implement testing methods to ensure products meet the highest quality standards, monitoring and reporting on defects.

  • Compliance Review: Evaluate proposed systems software for adherence to applicable quality assurance standards before acquisition or implementation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in Management or IT is an added advantage.

  • Professional Certifications: Certifications such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, ITIL, Linux/UNIX Administration, or Database Management are highly desirable.

  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in:

  1. Operational characteristics of various computer platforms and operating systems.
  2. Information systems analysis programs.
  3. Application software installation and support.
  4. Budgeting, contracting, and purchasing practices.
  5. Supervision and training principles.
  6. Quality assurance and security procedures related to complex, large computer systems and applications.
  7. Application development and troubleshooting.
  • Project Management: At least 2 years of experience in project management and administration, with knowledge of relevant industry practices, contract negotiation, and administration.
