We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our innovative financial team in Nairobi, Kenya. Key Responsibilities
As the Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing and managing financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards like IFRS, SACCO Act, and SASRA regulations.
- Supervising daily reconciliations and data entry to maintain precise records.
- Managing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensuring full compliance with taxation requirements and overseeing audit processes in collaboration with external auditors.
- Utilizing Microsoft Dynamics to streamline and optimize financial workflows.
- Monitoring financial transactions to prevent fraud and ensure adherence to internal controls.
- Providing detailed financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making.
- Supporting the team in developing and implementing effective financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you must have:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with 3 years within the co-operative movement sector.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics.
- Thorough knowledge of SACCO regulations and other relevant compliance standards.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
