Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
- Prepare and maintain accurate and timely financial statements.
- Post and manage journal entries for transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and payroll.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records to ensure accuracy.
Taxation
- Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including VAT, PAYE, and other statutory requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Collaborate in the creation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and prepare variance analysis reports.
Internal Controls
- Assist in designing and implementing internal control measures to safeguard company assets and ensure operational efficiency.
Audit Support
- Provide documentation and reports to facilitate external and internal audits.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
Other Duties
- Offer financial support to other departments.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance overall efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA Level 4 or higher (Mandatory).
- ACCA (midway or completed) is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks, SAP, or Xero.
- Knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations.
Added Advantage
- Fluency in Gujarati.
