ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarships 2025, applicants must:

  • Be a non-EU/EEA, Swiss, or UK citizen.
  • Have a conditional or final offer from an eligible Irish higher education institution.
  • Apply for a Master’s, Postgraduate Diploma, or PhD program (NFQ Level 9 or 10).
  • Demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.

Note: Previous recipients of a GOI-IES scholarship are not eligible to apply. Additionally, Russian and Belarusian nationals are currently ineligible due to ongoing geopolitical circumstances.

ASSESSMENT PROCESS

All applications will undergo a two-phase selection process:

  1. Eligibility Screening: Applications are initially reviewed by the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to verify eligibility and ensure alignment with the institution’s strategic objectives.
  2. Independent Panel Review: Shortlisted applications are evaluated by an independent panel based on academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, communication skills, and motivation for studying in Ireland.

HOW TO APPLY

Interested candidates must:

  1. Read the 2025 Call Documentation to confirm eligibility.
  2. Apply for admission to an eligible Master’s, Postgraduate Diploma, or PhD program at an Irish HEI.
  3. Obtain a conditional or final admission offer.
