Scholarship Selection Criteria

To qualify for the 2JIAJIRI Scholarship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a resident of one of the participating counties (Busia, Elgeyo Marakwet, Homabay, Kericho, Nyeri, Nandi, Siaya & Tharaka Nithi).
  • Be willing to undertake training at any of the listed vocational training institutes.
  • Possess a valid National Identity Card.
  • Be proficient in reading and writing in Kiswahili and/or English.
  • Commit to attend all training sessions, including industrial placement in their county of residence.
  • Belong to one of the following categories:
  1. Skiller: Individuals looking to acquire new vocational skills.
  2. Apprentice: Individuals who wish to gain practical, on-the-job training.
  3. Business Owner: Entrepreneurs seeking to improve their technical and managerial skills.

Key Responsibilities of Applicants

Successful applicants must:

  • Complete the application form accurately and fully.
  • Submit required documents, including:
  1. A passport-size photo attached to the form.
  2. A copy of their National Identity Card.
  3. A copy of their highest academic qualification certificate.
  4. Originals of all submitted documents for verification during the interview.
  • Attend the scheduled interviews from February 24th – February 28th, 2025 at the designated vocational training centers.
  • Commit to the full training duration, including practical industrial placement.
  • Uphold ethical standards throughout the program.
