The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) is a constitutional commission dedicated to promoting fairness, accountability, and transparency in public administration. 1. Chairperson – Audit and Risk Committee
Position: Chairperson, Audit and Risk Committee
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Type of Job: Part-time
Job Category: Governance and Risk Management
Salary: Allowances as determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission
Reporting to: The Commission Secretary

Key Responsibilities
- Provide Leadership: Offer strategic direction and oversight to the Audit and Risk Committee, fostering robust risk management and governance practices.
- Agenda Setting: Collaborate with committee members and the Secretary to set clear and actionable meeting agendas.
- Reporting: Regularly report the committee’s activities and decisions to the Commission.
- Audit Follow-ups: Ensure timely implementation of recommendations by internal and external auditors.
- Performance Review: Conduct periodic evaluations of the Internal Audit and Risk function, providing constructive feedback and driving continuous improvement.
- Compliance Oversight: Lead the committee in adherence to the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, and related guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess at least 15 years of senior management experience in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Economics, or related fields.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Be a current member in good standing of a recognized professional body.
- Have no employment or agency relationship with the Commission within the last two years.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of public sector governance frameworks, including the Public Finance Management Act and Public Audit Act.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Show familiarity with the Commission’s mandate and National Government operations.
Terms of Service
- Appointment is for a three-year term, renewable for one term based on performance.
- This is a part-time role with allowances determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
2. Member – Audit and Risk Committee
Position: Member, Audit and Risk Committee
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Reporting to: Chairperson, Audit and Risk Committee

- Have a minimum of 10 years of senior management experience in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, or related fields.

3. Senior Compliance Officer
Position: Senior Compliance Officer
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Reporting to: Director Strategy, Research, and Compliance

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze data and information on compliance by public officers with constitutional and statutory requirements.
- Follow up on compliance with recommended measures or remedies.
- Develop and implement compliance strategies and systems.

- Prepare compliance reports and identify non-compliance issues, proposing mitigations.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Law, Political Science, Economics, or related fields.
- Have at least 4 years of relevant experience as a Compliance Officer or equivalent.
- Possess a Certificate in Management and Computer Application Skills.
- Be a member of a relevant professional body and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
4. Accountant I
Position: Accountant I

Qualifications and Requirements

- Possess a valid BCE Driving License, Occupational Trade Test, and First Aid Certification.
- Have at least 3 years of driving experience.
