Key Responsibilities

As a Teacher Assistant, you will undertake various responsibilities to ensure smooth operations and foster a conducive learning environment.

• Supporting Learners: Assist children with extra needs to complete tasks and support pupils with individual requirements.
• Classroom Preparation: Ensure classrooms are organized and ready for lessons.
• Updating Records: Help update work in class and homework books.
• Lesson Planning: Collaborate with teachers to plan learning activities and maintain records.
• Classroom Management: Assist teachers in managing class behavior effectively.
• Learner Care: Ensure learners are presentable before going home, helping them change if needed.
• Class Teacher Role: Step in as a class teacher during teacher absenteeism to maintain continuity in learning.
• Supervision: Escort pupils during various school activities.
• Meal Supervision: Oversee snack and lunch services, ensuring all items are returned to the kitchen.
• Other Duties: Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

• TSC Registration: Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
• Educational Background: Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE).
• Academic Performance: Minimum KCSE grade C in English and Mathematics.
• Professional Experience: Trained teacher or currently in training.
