Job Description
Primary Objective
The HR Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the Human Resources department, ensuring smooth operational functions, maintaining compliance with employment regulations, and upholding the highest ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment and Onboarding
- Assist in job posting and application screening
- Coordinate interview processes
- Facilitate new hire orientation sessions
- Manage expatriate staff documentation, including work visas and background checks
2. Employee Records Management
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations
- Implement secure record-keeping practices
3. Employee Relations Support
- Handle employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and payroll
- Support organization of staff meetings and team-building events
- Provide administrative assistance for disciplinary actions and grievance management
4. Benefits Administration
- Assist employees with insurance and retirement plan enrollment
- Coordinate with benefits providers
- Resolve benefits-related queries
5. Payroll Support
- Prepare and verify employee information for payroll processing
- Track and manage time-off requests
- Maintain accurate attendance records
6. Compliance and Policy Management
- Update and ensure compliance with Kenya Labour Laws
- Implement and monitor HR policies and procedures
- Promote a positive organizational work environment
7. Administrative Support
- Perform clerical tasks
- Organize staff events and training sessions
- Deputize Human Resource Administrator duties when required
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
- Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management
- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP)
Professional Experience
- Minimum 3 years in HR operations
- Member of IHRM with valid HR Practicing License

- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS Systems
