Introduction

As a National Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening commercial relationships, driving exceptional business results, and fostering a high-performance culture within the sales teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned FMCG sales professional passionate about achieving strategic goals and delivering impactful results.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement business strategies and plans to achieve revenue, profitability, and volume objectives.
- Lead the Kenya sales agenda, focusing on general trade, modern trade, and HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, Catering) channels.
- Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to ensure timely and commercially viable sales decisions.
Team Management
- Drive a high-performance culture by leading and motivating the country sales team and third-party agency teams.
- Monitor team performance using the SFA system to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Provide effective training, guidance, and support to enhance team competence and commitment.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in general trade, modern trade, and HORECA channels.
- Proactively address stakeholder challenges and opportunities, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.
- Represent the company in strategic meetings with key customers and participate in various initiatives and partnerships.
Operational Excellence
- Plan and implement an annual calendar of trade interventions, ensuring a positive Return on Investment (ROI).
- Develop revenue forecasts in collaboration with key stakeholders and ensure targets are met.
- Lead the development and execution of Joint Business Plans to align company and customer objectives.
Market Analysis and Growth
- Identify and onboard new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with company standards and expectations.
- Stay updated on market trends, trade activities, and competitor strategies to inform decision-making.
- Develop and implement strategies to address market dynamics effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Background
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
Experience
- At least 10 years of managerial experience within the sales function in the FMCG sector.
- Proven track record of high performance in general and modern trade.
