Introduction

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) is a distinguished State Corporation operating under the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy. Established under the KBC Act (Cap. 221), KBC has cemented its position as a leader in broadcast services through Radio, Television, and Digital Media platforms.

In line with its mission to inform, educate, and entertain the public, KBC actively supports the Government’s Youth Empowerment Project by offering industrial attachment opportunities. These attachments aim to provide students with practical exposure, enabling them to apply academic knowledge, develop professional skills, build networks, and align with workplace expectations.

Duration of the Attachment

The Industrial Attachment Programme runs from January 2, 2025, to March 31, 2025. Selected candidates will benefit from:

  1. Practical exposure in their fields of specialization.
  2. Insights into the professional workplace environment.
  3. Opportunities to contribute to KBC’s diverse departments.

The programme is non-renewable, and placements are offered based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance of the applicant’s field of specialization to the Corporation’s operations.
  • KBC’s ability to accommodate the applicant.
  • Availability of requisite facilities and attachment slots.
  • A first-come, first-served selection process.
  • Priority given to 3rd and 4th-year undergraduate students and 2nd-year diploma students.

Key Responsibilities

During the attachment period, selected students will undertake the following:

  • Collaborate with department teams to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Apply theoretical knowledge to practical tasks within their respective fields.
  • Participate in the creation and distribution of content across KBC’s media platforms.
  • Gain insights into corporate operations, adhering to organizational standards and policies.
  • Develop reports on completed tasks and provide feedback for performance evaluations.

Requirements

Eligible candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be a 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate student from a recognized university or a 2nd-year diploma student from a reputable college.
  2. Complete the online application form, clearly indicating the preferred department of attachment.
  3. Provide a recommendation letter from their university or college.
  4. Attach a copy of their National Identification Card/Passport.
  5. Submit proof of registration for the attachment unit.
