Introduction

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB), established under the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222, is a state corporation dedicated to regulating the creation, broadcast, possession, distribution, and exhibition of films and broadcast content in Kenya. Our mission aligns with promoting national aspirations and preserving cultural values.

As part of its mandate to ensure the smooth operation of its facilities, KFCB invites applications for six Door Attendant positions on a casual basis. These roles are pivotal in ensuring seamless operations at the Nairobi Film Centre, a 24/7 facility located at Uchumi House in Nairobi.

This is a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high operational standards, and upholding safety and security within a dynamic work environment.


Key Responsibilities

As a Door Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and secure functioning of the Nairobi Film Centre. The role involves diverse responsibilities, including customer service, operational support, and safety management. Key duties include:

1. Facility Access Management

  • Opening and closing access points and doors at the facility.
  • Monitoring and enforcing security protocols to ensure the safety of the premises.

2. Maintenance Oversight

  • Reporting any required repairs or maintenance issues to the officer in charge.
  • Documenting and escalating incidents, accidents, or hazards within the facility.

3. Client Interaction

  • Directing event booking inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
  • Providing clients and guests with accurate information regarding space availability, operating hours, and services offered.

4. Security Assistance

  • Assisting security personnel in maintaining a secure environment.
  • Supporting the team during emergencies or unforeseen incidents.

5. Crowd Control and Event Monitoring

  • Managing crowds during events, ensuring safety and order.
  • Observing events to promptly address any disruptions or safety concerns.

6. Other Duties

  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by the officer in charge.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for the position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Mandatory Requirements

  1. Experience:
    • At least three years of relevant experience in facility management, janitorial services, door attendant roles, or security services.
  2. Age:
    • Applicants must be aged between 25 and 40 years.
  3. Physical Fitness:
    • Demonstrated physical fitness to handle the demands of the role.
  4. Certifications:
    • At least one of the following certifications is required:
      • First Aid
      • Firefighting
      • Crowd Control
      • Monitoring and Surveillance
      • Self-Defense
      • Customer Service
      • Communications
  5. Police Clearance:
    • A valid certificate of good conduct or police clearance is mandatory.
  6. Language Skills:
    • Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is required.
