Key Responsibilities

As a Human Resource Intern, you will actively participate in HR-related activities and provide support to the Human Resource Officer in ensuring the effective execution of HR functions. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Recruitment and Onboarding:

    • Assisting in the recruitment process by posting job advertisements, screening applications, and shortlisting candidates.
    • Scheduling interviews and coordinating candidate communication.
    • Assisting in the onboarding and orientation of new employees to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
  2. Employee Record Management:

    • Maintaining and updating employee files, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Handling confidential HR documents and ensuring that all records are accurate and up to date.
  3. Training & Development:

    • Assisting in the coordination of training programs, workshops, and seminars for employees.
    • Tracking attendance and maintaining training records.
    • Assisting in evaluating the effectiveness of learning and development programs.
  4. Performance Management Support:

    • Supporting the HR team in conducting performance appraisals and maintaining employee evaluation records.
    • Assisting in developing strategies to enhance employee productivity and engagement.
  5. HR Administration:

    • Assisting in the preparation of HR reports, including key HR metrics such as turnover rates, recruitment data, and training statistics.
    • Handling HR-related correspondence and documentation.
  6. Compliance and Employee Relations:

    • Ensuring adherence to Kenyan labor laws and employment regulations.
    • Assisting in handling employee grievances and concerns under the guidance of the HR Officer.
    • Maintaining HR files and ensuring that company policies are consistently applied.
  7. General HR Support:

    • Performing various administrative duties to support the HR department.
    • Assisting with employee engagement initiatives and activities to foster a positive work environment.

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for this internship opportunity, candidates should meet the following criteria:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
